Just a few weekends ago, while daughter Trinidad was out-of-town for a marching band competition, my husband Jody and our three younger children – Rane, Eva, and Zack – made our way to Oklahoma City to attend the annual Plaza District Festival.
While I worked on gathering video, photos and interviews for an assignment, my family enjoyed the festival and my husband met with a few of his old friends…

Oklahoma City’s Plaza District is home to art galleries, studios, retail shops, restaurants, and creative services. Once blighted by urban decay, the Plaza District now boasts a renewed energy.

Artist James Rogers – turns out he’s one of my husband’s boyhood friends 🙂

I got a tip there was going to be a flash mob – and it sprung up right in front of me a few minutes later

I had to back up over a curb while videotaping to get out of the way of the dancers

Artist Rawb Carter – another boyhood friend of my husband 🙂

Photographer Cliff Brown – yet another friend of my husband from long ago!

I loooove the pink heffalump!

I felt exactly like this at the end of the day

You’d never know the day had begun all rainy and gray

The Flash Mob:
Hi Lyann 😀
I like your two videos especially the flash dance. The kids had a lot of fun doing it. Big hug Ralph xox 😀
Thank you, Ralph! I really enjoyed the flash dance – I’d never seen one in person before B-)
